I'm Laiba. I built this so an income never had to cost me my home.
Decor Studio by LA started at the end of 2022 — not as a candle brand first, but as an answer to one question: how could I build something that grew, without ever asking me to choose between it and my family?
A frustration, turned into a curriculum.
In 2022, building something on Instagram felt like the right call. Before I ever taught anyone, I was the student — piecing candle making together from free YouTube tutorials. They made it look quick and easy. My kitchen told a different story. Every video skipped the ten things that actually went wrong the moment I tried it myself.
Free tutorials weren't going to get me there. So I started doing my own research — burning wax, burning my fingers, and going through more money than I'd like to admit — until the fundamentals finally clicked: the real rules behind why a candle behaves the way it does.
As my own candle business grew, something else happened. Women started asking to learn from me — not just how to make a candle, but how to make something they could genuinely be proud of.
"I still remember her name — Annie — because she was the first person to believe I could actually teach this."
When I finally said yes to teaching, after enough people asked, my first-ever student registered: a woman named Annie. My first batch had 23 women, ranging from 18 years old to over 70 — every one of them a complete beginner.
I remember that first class like it happened yesterday. My heart was pounding through all three hours. Twenty-three women were trusting me to help them learn something they could call their own. My favorite part of that class was the Q&A — because questions meant they were really trying, really learning. To this day, that's still my favorite part of every class I teach.
Twenty-seven batches later, I'm still improving how I teach, batch after batch — so every student can walk away able to stand on her own two feet, confidently, whether she's building a hobby or a business.
Built around real schedules, not the other way around.
Most students juggle a full household alongside this course. So the course had to bend around real life — not demand that real life bend around it.
Recorded lessons
Each week's lesson is recorded, so you watch and practice whenever your schedule actually allows — no fixed class time to build your week around.
Live class, every week
At the end of each week, a live class where I personally review what you've made and answer your questions directly.
